The awards season is in full swing and at Open we have been busy painting our clients in the best possible light, while putting them forward for awards on both a local and national level.

A lot of hard work goes into these awards from identifying an appropriate category to drafting the entry, we strive to ensure that our clients have the best chance of being shortlisted.

It all begins by first looking at the categories and recommending which ones the client should enter. Once this has been decided upon, we then collate all the information we need to complete the entry form, which could include a conversation with the client.

Next, comes the process of drafting the entry and gaining approval. Finally, we pop it across to the award’s organisers and sit tight whilst waiting to see whether our client has been lucky enough to make it through.

With all this hard work, time and effort going in to awards we were thrilled to hear the other week that two of our clients had been shortlisted in both local and national awards. We gave a big cheer as we were over the moon that our input had resulted in the client receiving recognition.

While The Ridings Shopping Centre has made it through to the shortlist in both the SCEPTRE awards and Wakefield District Business Awards, Xamax are also competing for a Wakefield District Business Awards accolade.

At The Ridings, the co-operative craft store, Created in Yorkshire has been shortlisted for Short Term Retailer of the Year at the SCEPTRE Awards. Hosted annually by Shopping Centre Magazine, the awards recognise the best practice and the best people in the shopping centre industry.

If that wasn’t enough the store has also been shortlisted for the Innovation of the Year accolade at the Wakefield District Business Awards that celebrate the success stories of the city’s companies. As well as all this we also have Xamax in the running for the Innovation of the Year award too.

With both The Ridings and Xamax being shortlisted, it clearly shows that the time, effort and determination that goes into making sure the spotlight shines firmly on our clients is paying off.

At Open we see awards as a key part of our role; we like to make sure that our clients get the recognition that they deserve and see them as the ideal opportunity to do just this, whilst raising their profile at the same time.

A huge congrats to The Ridings Shopping Centre and Xamax for making it this far. We wish them the best of luck for on the night of the awards ceremonies; all the team at Open will be keeping their fingers and toes firmly crossed that they bring the trophy home!
