When Ian Taylor, founder of Media Displays, launched the new TV Bike he called upon the help of Open Communications to achieve national headlines.

With limited budget, Open recommended a simple press story to explain what the TV bikes are and how they can complement creative marketing campaigns for brands throughout the country. The agency suggested that two versions of the story be drafted; one for regional media and a second for national. A photocall was also coordinated to maximise any coverage achieved.

After securing regional coverage in local titles including the Wakefield Express and Yorkshire Evening Post, the agency got to work and secured a piece in the Mail on Sunday and the Bright Ideas section of the Sunday Telegraph.

As a result of the piece in the Sunday Telegraph Ian recieved a call from the BBC to ask if he would like to appear on Dragon’s Den. The rest as they say is history. For more details about Ian, the TV Bikes and his experience with Dragon’s Den please visit his website at
