Open Communications was appointed a the preferred PR partner to deliver a year-round press office for the Coalfields Regeneration Trust to spread the word and showcase the fantastic work it was doing and the results it was delivering.
As the only organisation dedicated to supporting former mining communities, the Coalfields Regeneration Trust has a challenging job when you consider that there are 5.7m residents of former mining small cities, towns and villages throughout the UK.
Over time the agency evolved the PR plan to have a positive impact both within the communities and importantly with its many stakeholders including MPs and the national government.
Drafting and distributing a schedule of press releases is just the start with this account, as we were also responsible for award submissions, event planning, website content and managing social media campaigns.
Furthermore, Open Communications also supported with launches and events at the Houses of Parliament in Westminster and also at the political party conferences, becoming a trusted representative of the organisation.
The results of this activity had a profound impact on the organisation and allowed it to present a consistent image and share its priorities for action with millions of people.
