As a £1.2bn Japanese snack business, when Calbee decided to launch its first UK subsidiary, Open Communications was on hand to support with all PR that would include corporate communications, trade and consumer PR, activation and event management.
Not only was the objective to communicate that the business now had a manufacturing facility in Deeside in Wales that would support its UK based operations, but also to support the announcement of the first snack to be produced here.
Running concurrently, Open Comms was able to put a corporate PR strategy in place for the business, while also liaising with consumer, trade, national and regional media about Yushoi, the snapea rice sticks and managing the brands social media channels.
Securing coverage, maintaining ongoing engagement with consumers and winning awards for the company, it goes without saying that the activity that we delivered had the desired impact and the snacks are now available from most leading retailers.
What’s more, we were able to show that one agency can be trusted to deliver a full brief to span corporate communications, trade and consumer PR and activation.
